Macbeth - Kill Bill Shakespeare

17th July 2007 Print
Macbeth - Kill Bill Shakespeare Was Shakespeare a writer of pulp fiction? Conceived and directed by Malachi Bogdanov, Macbeth: Kill Bill Shakespeare is a stunning production of the classic play laced with the violent glamour of film director Quentin Tarantino. Mac Theatre welcomes Malachi back for another groundbreaking and action-packed production of a classic tale, following the success of the very different children's productions of 'Pinocchio' and 'The Little Mermaid' and the critical acclaim of his 2003 Edinburgh hit 'Bill Shakespeare's Italian Job'.

Accompanied by a thrilling contemporary soundtrack, the production reveals the story of Macbeth's relentless pursuit of his own destruction; injected with power, betrayal, lust and murder. Littered with provocative elements of Tarantino's and Shakespeare's work, this performance will take you on a fast and furious ride through one of history's best-known tragedies.

Recommended for ages 14 and upward, Shakespeare's blood-soaked text, plus the innovative mix of costume, colour and scenery is a perfect way in for theatre sceptics and students.
