The Angel Film Festival Back For Second Year

7th August 2007 Print
The Angel Film Festival is a competition for independent short films. It aims to nurture upcoming directors, producers and actors and to give time and attention to the pleasurable pursuit of watching films. It is now in its second year, following a highly successful debut in August 2006.

This year, 65 short films have been chosen from an amazing 600 submissions. The final selection comprises an eclectic mix of drama, animation, comedy and documentary by a range of different film-makers, from those making their film festival debut to veterans of the short film scene.

The Festival will take place over 3 weekends in September, with the very best films – as voted by the public over the previous weeks – screened at the N1 Vue Cinema . All showings are free and open to the public, and offer an excellent opportunity to meet with film-makers, cast and crew whilst watching a collection of amazing short films.

The showings will take place at the following venues:

Saturday 15th September: The King’s Head, 2-5pm, Upper Street, Islington

Sunday 16th September: Bierodrome, 2-5pm, Upper Street, Islington

Saturday 22nd September: To be announced

Sunday 23rd September: The Garden, 2-5pm, Upper Street, Islington

In addition, on September 30th, a final awards ceremony will take place at Vue cinemas N1.
