Foreigner to play 30th anniversary tour
Celebrating their 30th anniversary of Foreigner, the band, led by its founder, Mick Jones, will play a 7 date tour visiting Glasgow, Newcastle, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Wolverhampton, Manchester and London, and runs from 9 to 17 November. At all of the concerts a local school choir will be invited to join the band on stage to sing Foreigner’s classic hit ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’.Following on from these exclusive dates, Foreigner will return on 26 November and join Led Zeppelin to play the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Show at the O2 Arena.

The UK tour starts in Glasgow on Friday 9 November and ends at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on 17 November. For the past two years the band have been touring extensively across the world and wowing packed houses of ecstatic fans. Foreigner’s legendary Mick Jones is joined by drummer Jason Bonham, lead singer Kelly Hansen, bassist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Jeff Jacobs and rhythm guitarist / saxophonist Tom Gimble.
Foreigner have also set up a once in a life time competition to sing their hit “I Want To Know What Love Is” onstage each night throughout the seven date tour. A school choir (20 people max) in each area will have the opportunity to enter. To take part, simply upload a clip of the school choir singing the song onto Youtube.com and send a link of the clip to foreigner@sjmconcerts.com. From there the band will choose the best entry for each night.
Formed in 1976 and having sold over 70 million albums worldwide, throughout the 70's and 80's, Foreigner were hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world racking up scores of smash hits, multi-platinum albums, and sold out concert tours. The bands album ‘4’ is still to this day Atlantic Records longest standing album at number one in the Billboard chart, and they were the first band to sell in excess of 1 million records for the label.
For this UK tour Foreigner will be playing all their hits from “Cold As Ice” to “Hot Blooded,” “Urgent” to “Jukebox Hero,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You” to the chart topper “I Want To Know What Love is”. Foreigner's thrilling mix of blustery blues and impeccably crafted pop continues to captivate generation after generation of music fans. From New York City to the farthest reaches of South Africa, the band continues to electrify a global fan base with their live performances.
On 26 November, Foreigner will be playing at the must see show of the decade. As a tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, Foreigner will take to the O2 Arena stage with legends such as Led Zeppelin and Pete Townsend, as well as Paolo Nutini, the last artist signed to Atlantic by Ahmet. This exclusive show sold out within minutes with over 25 million people registering for the chance to get one off the 20,000 tickets.
Currently in the studio writing and recording a new album, Foreigner will be releasing a new album in mid 2008.
