Ali Campbell and Beverley Knight are running free The title track of Ali Campbell’s second solo album ‘Running Free’ is an original duet with the UK soul queen Beverley Knight. The second single to be taken from the top 10 album sees the two West Midlanders on fine fettle with their vocals working superbly well together.

Speaking from the studio when recording the duet with Ali, Beverley Knight said “To share your artistry with someone else who is on a very similar mindset to you is the most fantastic thing. I absolutely adore it, it’s an honour to be here.”

The album ‘Running Free’, released towards the end of 2007, featured a mix of covers and originals and many duets with guests including Smokey Robinson, Mick Hucknall, Beverley Knight, Lemar, Bitty McLean and Katie Melua.

As the voice of the legendary Birmingham reggae band UB40, Ali has sold over 60 million records worldwide. Now performing as a solo artist Ali is looking forward to staying true to his love of reggae and its ongoing capacity for innovation.

On April 3 Ali will be playing a one-off concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall where he will be joined by many of the artists on the ‘Running Free’ album for a very special evening. In June Ali will take to the road for his ‘Running Free’ tour - his first full UK solo tour since his departure from the band he co-founded 30 years ago.

The national tour will feature songs from Ali’s two solo albums, ‘Running Free’ and ‘Big Love’, alongside other reggae gems that Ali has always wanted to perform and, of course, classic UB40 hits such as ‘Red Red Wine’ and ‘Kingston Town’.
