Orchid blossoms as new venue for London

Designer Mark Fricker has also designed Octave in Covent Garden and des Vins in the newly refurbished St Pancras Station.
Orchid takes inspiration from the ancient art of feng shui as well as its namesake ‘the delicate flower’, incorporating soft lighting, muslin drape dividers and non-intrusive music.
The expertly trained staff and personal service is a key part of the Orchid experience. Each member of staff has been individually chosen for their approachability, friendly nature and knowledge of the bar and drinks industry. Other special attributes include Orchid’s very own sommelier Will Buckland, and mixologist, Alexandro Guillermo who both personally oversee the construction of each new cocktail and wine list.
Along with the classic Mojito, The Black Monk cocktail consists of fresh blueberries and blackberries as well Gordon’s Gin with a dash of Frangelico and is set to be Orchid’s signature cocktail.
Attracting a mix of celebrities, journalists and media types, Orchid provides an alternative, luxurious and relaxed retreat from the hectic world of the west end. Opening from 5pm to midnight six days a week, with complimentary canapés for everyone in the bar. Recent members to the bar include Fearne Cotton, Glam rock band The Krak, Peaches and Fifi Geldof, Alesha Dixon, Booty Luv and Keisha from Sugababes.
The canapé menu, which customers are encouraged to sample for free between 6pm and 8pm every evening consists of delicious, mouth-watering ingredients created by Orchid’s head chef, Greg Blampied. The menu includes fried shitake mushroom and parmesan risotto balls with aioli dip, chicken and Parma ham skewers with red pepper coulis and mini lemon and raspberry tartlets which are all prepared fresh, on-site every day.
With an outstanding sound system in place, Orchid puts live music and entertainment at the heart of the bar. Entertainment has included solo jazz sets from their white baby grand piano which is in permanent residence to full on bands. Recent acts at the bar have included James Henderson and The Yots Quartet. Future performers also include The Krak, The Cazals and up and coming artists Hayley Sales (Acoustic, Surf, Pop) & John Bottomley (acoustic, rock)
Visitors of Orchid are encouraged to reserve a table and sit back with friends or colleagues while listening to the calming background music and enjoying their delightful canapés. Orchid also offers the venue for private hire if you can't bare the thought of sharing this divine venue with fellow socialites.
