The Zutons to play The Liverpool Sound

On the eve of kick-starting their first tour in two years, The Zutons return to the live stage on Sunday, June 1 for one of the major highlights of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture celebrations.

After recording their third album ‘You Can Do Anything’ in Los Angeles, The Zutons come home to join Sir Paul McCartney and the Kaiser Chiefs for a special one-off concert at Liverpool FC's Anfield stadium. ‘You Can Do Anything,’ released June 2, is the follow-up to the multi platinum selling albums ‘Who Killed The Zutons?’ (2004) and ‘Tired Of Hanging Around’ (2006).

The Zutons have so far scored two Top 10 Hits with ‘Why Won’t You Give Me Your Love?’ & ‘Valerie’ (both from ‘Tired Of Hanging Around’) and six Top 40 - ‘Pressure Point,’ ‘You Will You Won’t,’ ‘Remember Me,’ ‘Don’t Ever Think (Too Much),’ ‘Confusion’ and ‘Oh Stacey (Look What You’ve Done!).’ ‘Valerie’ has been in the Top 100 Radio Airplay Charts for over one hundred weeks, it entered the charts in May 2006 and is still there, courtesy of the Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse version.

A band born and bred in Liverpool, The Zutons will open the concert at Anfield on Sunday night.
