Cheka Kidogo - Final chance to see Rankin Exhibition

The exhibition brings the faces of those caught up in Congo's war-zone to London's South Bank. Photographer to the stars, Rankin, joined forces with Oxfam and The Co-operative Bank to help raise awareness of the situation in Congo. In this display, his renowned style of celebrity portraiture has been used with entirely different subjects - the residents of the Mugunga camp in Congo, home to 17,000 people displaced by Congo's harrowing violence.
The free exhibition is comprised of 32 images mounted on 7ft stands outside the National Theatre on London's South Bank. The portraits are displayed together with a video screens playing footage of Rankin at work in the Congo and interviews with people in Mugunga camp.
Since the start of the exhibition the violence in Congo has escalated and more than 250,000 people have been forced to flee their homes to escape the fighting since August, adding to more than one million already displaced as result of the conflict. Oxfam has been providing water and sanitation to help keep people alive and is planning to double its aid effort over the coming weeks.
Visitors to Cheka Kidogo can help Oxfam's work in the Congo by making a donation to the DEC Congo (DR) Crisis Appeal, by telephone on 0370 60 60 900, or by visting dec.org.uk or donating over the counter at any post office or high street bank.
The Co-operative Bank also provides an Oxfam credit card, which provides Oxfam with £15 for every account opened and a further 25p for every £100 spend on the card which goes directly into the mainstream of funds used to support their work.
