Enjoy an Argentine Tango in Ireby If Strictly Come Dancing’s Saturday night Argentine tangos have left you hungry for more of this passionate fusion of elegance and romance, resolve to hit the dance floor with your own flicks, biciclettas and South American attitude in the New Year.

Visitors and local residents alike can enjoy their first, most exciting, or last tango in the Western Lake District, if they head to Ireby. There, expert Argentine tango tutors, Tanya and Howard, provide a whole range of experiences based around this sensuous dance, from taster sessions and private tuition, to social events and Argentine tango holidays.

The Argentine tango has been popularised by TV dance stars like Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace and is said to be the favourite dance of everyone from people in the street, to ‘It Takes Two’ presenter, Claudia Winkleman.

Tanya and Howard deliver this exciting dance experience on a weekly basis, to those wishing to learn or perfect this dramatic dance, groups wishing to enjoy an evening of social interaction and others who merely wish to keep fit.

Every level of dancer is welcome at Tango Primero, which has its base at Ireby, 20 minutes from Keswick and Cockermouth and just ten minutes from Bassenthwaite

Tanya and Howard have enhanced many lives through the Argentine tango and can tailor their dance experiences to suit any need. Pupils do not have to be part of a couple, or have any particular level of ability, as the important thing is to feel the Argentine tango in the soul, rather than know how to dance it.

As a rule of thumb, a Café experience at Tango Primero costs around £85 for a couple or £60 for an individual. This provides personal tuition, in a candle-lit setting, with both champagne and coffee served to make the experience that little bit more special.

Groups can also access this amazing Argentine tango experience, at a cost of around £45 per person for a 90-minute workshop.

Those wishing to combine an Argentine tango experience with a stay in the beautiful Western Lake District – home to ‘Britain’s Favourite View’, can either access contact recommended accommodation providers, or make their own choice, as Tango Primero courses are non-residential.

Accommodation around Ireby is available to suit all budgets. The Bassenthwaite area is one of the most beautiful in the entire Lake District and Bassenthwaite is also home to Cumbria’s famous ospreys, who live there from around April to August/September.
