Create the ‘Crème de la Crêpe' this Pancake Day This Shrove Tuesday turn your hand to flipping pancakes at the Covent Garden Market Building – with Crème de la Crêpe! On Tuesday 24th February, Crème de la Crêpe is hosting the first ever ‘Crêperama’ at Covent Garden’s Market Building to find the best crêpe creator in London. Covent Garden’s Crêperama offers an evening of crêpe-fuelled frolics, and the chance to win free crêpes for a year.

Battle it out in front of a panel of judges to win the crêpe-making crown and prove that it’s flipping easy to invent the perfect crêpe. Judges will be marking in three categories: flare, presentation and most importantly – taste.

Join the fun at 6pm in the Market Building, where crêpes and fillings will be at the ready - or if you're really serious, you can bring your own.

Crème de la Crêpe’s Top Tips for the perfect crêpe!

- Always use a non stick frying pan
- Allow the pan to become sizzling hot before you pour in the batter
- Make your crepes unique! Try adding cocoa powder or vanilla pods to the batter mix for sweet crêpes, or chilli or dill for a more savoury flavour
- Be creative with fillings - try different recipes, for example an English Breakfast in a crepe or fill with
- Go large! – try making a crêpes cake by cooking approx 20 crepes and layering them up, spreading cream, chocolate sauce and fresh fruit on top of each layer
