A sophisticated cocktail experience on Kings Road

This year has seen the launch of JuJu, a stunning Champagne and Cocktail Lounge. Located on the fashionable Kings Road, JuJu offers guests a sophisticated cocktail experience in opulent surroundings. So popular has JuJu already become, that it has just won ‘Best New Bar’ at ‘The London Club and Bar Awards 2009’.

Owners Lee Chapman and Leslie Ash have owned clubs and restaurants for over 10 years, with previous ventures including private members club and restaurant, Teatro, and Souk, a North African themed bar that they still currently own. They have worked closely with acclaimed designer Martin Brudnizki, whose recent projects include Scotts, St. Pancras Grand and The Ivy Club, to create a truly decadent and unique space.

The ground floor has been broken up by leather banquette seating and round low tables, scattered with yellow rose petals. The seating areas are cocooned with dramatic lacquer and mirror, fret cut screens, and large sections of the maroon ceiling are covered with ornate mirrors. There are recurring motifs of patterned squares and circles gently backlit throughout, and Brudnizki has used dark tones with gold and mirrored finishes to create a truly luxurious atmosphere. The long bar has a chocolate brown moulded glass top and is lit by spots of colour from hand blown glass pendant lights of emerald, ruby and sapphire.

There is a VIP area on the ground floor wallpapered in gold leaf, accommodating up to 30 guests. Downstairs is the ‘JuJu Lounge’, an intimate space accommodating up to 80 people with two discreet booths and a bar with a concertinaed mirrored front. JuJu Lounge is the perfect location for parties, presentations and playbacks, with cutting edge technology and sound.

JuJu has an extremely impressive drinks menu, which delights such as the Passion Daisy, an exotic blend of Lemon Vodka, Passoa Liqueur, Passion Fruit Purée and Gomme Syrup, Candy Apple Martini, a heady mix of Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur, Apple Schnapps and Tuaca and, Midnight in Chelsea, featuring Pear Vodka, Crème de Mûre, Apple Juice, Lemon Juice and Sugar Syrup. There are also extensive champagne and wines lists.

JuJu offers a delicious Pan-Asian food menu with delights including Skewered Tiger Prawns with Sesame and Peanut Chilli Sauce, Wild Pepper Leaf Wrapped Ground Beef with Nuoc Cham and Steamed King Crab Claws with Ginger, Lemongrass and Spring Onion. There is a great live music offering at JuJu, including a Latino night on Tuesdays and also a live showcase for unsigned acts every Sunday evening.
