Have Women Had It With Valentine’s Day?
Guys can ditch the roses, bury the cookery books and forget the romantic weekend in a tent, CitySocialising.com reveals the moment that every guy has been waiting for, research shows that women don't like Valentines Day either!Research revealed today shows that over half of women, an amazing 54%, loathe Valentines Day. Social events and friend-finding company CitySocialising.com commissioned the research to find out peoples modern day attitude to the most romantic day in the calendar and were amazed at some of the results that came out.
For the first time ever it showed that more guys value Valentines Day than girls with 25% saying that they love the day and the events that it brings compared to just 12% of women who said the same.
The researchers also presented participants with a list of celebrities that people could choose to either go on a date or just be friends with. Chris Moyles was narrowly beaten into 3rd place by Johnny Vaughan with 29% whilst Dermot O Leary topped the poll with 36% of the votes for the girls when it came to going on a date.
Moyles was the clear leader on the friend category with 38%, beating radio rival Johnny Vaughan into 3rd place with 24% after Dermot came in second spot.
On the girls front Tess Daly with 60% of votes was the most popular date for guys but bizarrely the least popular female that they would want to be friends with. Top choice for the ‘person people would most like to be friends with’ went to the universally loved Davina McCall with 68% of votes.
Bad news for Russell Brand who came in as last choice in both the Valentine’s date and the friend’s poll.
Speaking about the findings, Managing Director of CitySocialising.com, Sanchita Saha said, "We have been running this survey for over a month now on the front page of our site and I was staggered when we went through the findings and saw that women are now getting fed up of Valentines Day".
"I have always been a big fan of Chris Moyles so it is good to see that the public has ignored the recent media criticism and holds him close to their heart and I am sure he will have been delighted to have beaten Johnny Vaughan in the poll".
