Taste Of Bath Festival The 2007 ‘Taste of Bath’ festival promises to be a four day gourmet restaurant, food and drink extravaganza, taking place in the stunning outdoor setting of Bath’s Royal Victoria Park, just below the Royal Crescent, from Thursday 28th June to Sunday 1st July, 2007.

The festival will create the greatest gathering ever seen of Bath and the South West’s chefs, restaurants, local producers and ‘foodies’. The event will offer 15,000 visitors the opportunity to sample signature dishes from 15 of the most renowned restaurants in Bath, Bristol and the surrounding regions as well as demonstrations from top UK celebrity chefs. Visitors will also have the chance to explore new food and drink offerings from local producers and a stunning array of wines from around the world.

The list of confirmed restaurants is diverse, from long standing establishments, such as Hole in the Wall and Pimpernels at The Royal Crescent, to Michelin starred dining at The Bath Priory, Lucknam Park or Gidleigh Park Hotels. Guests can also expect a wide variety of cuisine from restaurants such as The Olive Tree, Demuths, Blackstones Kitchen, or Fish Works and the Bristolian favorites like Bells Diner and Bordeaux Quay.

Local personalities behind the event include chef Michael Caines, who comments, ‘Taste of Bath is a brilliant opportunity for Bath, and the South West as a whole, to showcase the wonderful larder, talented chefs and restaurants within the region. I am very proud to be part of it.’

‘Taste of Bath’ is set to become an unmissible date in Bath’s summer social calendar, with a full music and cultural timetable. Exclusive VIP and Corporate Hospitality areas will offer a truly indulgent experience to those seeking a stylish setting for their culinary adventure.

Highlights of the festival will include wine tastings, an opportunity to interact with the teams from Channel 4 food brands such as River Cottage and a visit to the Leffe Speciality Beer Academy. Visitors will also have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the guest chefs such as Anthony Worrall Thompson and Aldo Zilli.

Set in al fresco surroundings, ‘Taste of Bath’ is not just about sampling mouth-watering dishes, it is a chance to improve your culinary skills, watch experts in action, participate in a class and educate your palate with a range of tasting sessions in a summer festival environment.

Many local companies have been quick to support the event, such as Wessex Water whose work in food production normally comes through service to local food producers, but as a sponsor of ‘Taste of Bath’, Wessex Water will help to showcase the final product of this service to the delight of thousands of appreciative foodies.
