Too Many Chefs? Not At Taste Of Bath
Tickets for a major new event ‘Taste of Bath’ went on sale this week as participating restaurants and celebrity chefs were announced. Just below the Royal Crescent, the stunning gardens in Royal Victoria Park are to be transformed into a summertime ‘feast for the senses’, from Thursday 28th June to Sunday 1st July, 2007. The event will celebrate gourmet restaurant cuisine and locally produced food and drink from Bath and the South West.Hugh Fernley-Wittingstall, Michael Caines, Martin Blunos and X-Factor star, Aldo Zilli will confirm the South West’s status as a food capital with a 3-day al fresco festival celebrating gourmet restaurant cuisine and locally produced food and drink.
Taste of Bath will offer visitors the opportunity to sample dishes from 15 of the most renowned restaurants in Bath, Bristol and the surrounding regions. There will also be demonstrations from top UK celebrity chefs, an opportunity to meet with the team from Channel 4’s River Cottage, and a Speciality Beer Master Class. The day will be complemented with a programme of local music and entertainment.
A major attraction of Taste of Bath will be a special producers market which will be hosted by Delicious magazine, and sponsored by the South West of England Regional Development Agency. This area within the festival will showcase some of the very best producers from around South West England. Chefs involved in Taste of Bath have been quick to nominate their suppliers to partake in the opportunity to display and sell their produce at the Festival. A photo shoot yesterday (29th March) highlighted the importance of celebrating local produce to this gourmet festival.
Many local companies have been quick to support the event, such as Wessex Water who will be running a ‘Water for Health’ stand. They join Leffe, The Times, Channel 4, Venue Publishing, Bath Tourism Plus and Bath Chronicle as major supporters who make the festival happen.
Tickets are strictly limited to 2,500 per session and there are VIP packages available.
