Chilean Gastronomic Week

17th April 2007 Print
Image Chile’s pure environment and natural barriers help to produce great-tasting seafood, meat, vegetables, fruit – and of course wines. Now ProChile London, the office of the Chilean Government which promotes Chilean exports and inward investment from the UK, is hosting Chilean Gastronomic Week, giving British gourmets the opportunity to experience Chile’s exciting repertoire of dishes.

Renowned chef Cristian Correa, Executive Chef of Santiago’s ‘Agua’ restaurant – hailed by Condé Nast Traveler magazine as “one of the 50 best restaurants in the world” – will be creating dishes that feature the extraordinary range of aromas, flavours, textures and colours characteristic of his passionate and innovative approach to the national Chilean gastronomic style.

Chef Correa is a member of a group of leading chefs who are using the country’s many natural advantages to stimulate the cultural identity of Chilean gastronomy.

Luis Montero, Director of Prochile London said, “While Chilean wines have a high profile, our speciality foods are relatively unknown. Our Gastronomic Week will help raise the profile of Chilean cuisine in the friendly setting of the Melia White House Hotel.”

• Monday 23 April to Friday 27 April
• Melia White House Hotel, Albany Street, Regent’s Park, London, NW1 3UP
• Buffet Lunch in The Place Restaurant: 12.30-3pm
