2007 Emsworth Food Festival
Food Lovers are in for a treat from September 14th to 16th. The Emsworth Food Festival celebrates its sixth birthday with a celebration of local produced food and drink. Expect to discover an eclectic mouth watering choice of champagne and oysters alongside real ale and Moroccan delicacies. There is a ‘green’ flavour to the Festival themes this year, encouraging visitors of all ages to sample and buy local produce in season, with a huge variety of stalls and demonstrations to maximise the experience. Children and the elderly also enjoy special attention, with focused activities and workshops.
The festival offers over 120 stalls spread across Emsworth village; this year providing even more diversity. Live music adds to the festival spirit, with a scheduled programme in place for the three days
“The event has become more than just a food festival,” said Lulu Bowerman, Chairman of Emsworth Food Festival, “It celebrates a way of life that encourages well being and a sense of community. The joy is in seeing residents and visitors chatting with producers, and discovering locally available delicacies literally a few miles from their door.”
The Emsworth Festival is the biggest food event in the South. Beginning in 2001, the event now accommodates over 120 stalls and 55,000 visitors over the three days. Uniquely for an event of this size, the festival is organised and managed by volunteers within the village.
Sited across the historic old fishing village, the event showcases producers, restaurants and pubs. Visitors can sample the freshest of local produce and seafood as well as cuisine from the different continents of the planet.
