Hands-On With World-Renowned Chefs At Taste Of Bath

Taste of Bath, the summers al fresco food festival, is less than a month away and details of the mouth-watering features are now being announced. One of the highlights taking place in the stunning Royal Victoria Park June 28 - July 1, will be The Bertinet Kitchen cookery school outpost. With a fantastic line-up of internationally renowned chefs the event is set to be the ultimate treat for serious foodies.

All of the classes at The Bertinet Kitchen cookery school will be hands-on, featuring Michelin starred mini-classes from local experts, Richard Guest of The Castle, Taunton, Martin Burge of Whatley Manor and Michael Bedford of The Trouble House, Tetbury. The classes will be set alongside interactive sessions with local gastro pubs; The King William and The Wheatsheaf at Combe Hay, during which, visitors will be given the opportunity to try their hands at classic dishes such as marinated mackerel. The recipes will make the most of the fantastic array of produce available in the South West.

Richard Bertinet, author of best selling book ‘DOUGH – Simple Contemporary bread’, will be running bread-making classes as well as a session on knife skills and how to make delicious treats such as French apple tart. Set in the shadow of the Bath’s famous Royal Crescent Taste of Bath will celebrate South West England’s gastronomic talents with a food festival as part of Taste Festival’s celebration of food from across the British Isles.

This eclectic programme of classes is featured on both the Channel 4 Taste of Bath and The Bertinet Kitchen websites. Half of the places will be available to pre-book, with the remaining spaces available on the day.
