Yorkshire Treasures Showcased At Harvey Nichols

27th June 2007 Print
Yorkshire Treasures at Harvey Nichols To celebrate the tenth year of Harvey Nichols Leeds and the heritage of Yorkshire, Foodmarkets across the UK & Ireland will be honouring a delicious range of sweet and savoury treats from the Yorkshire region, perfect for afternoon tea.

From long-established producers to traditional favourites, some of the key highlights will include:

HARVEY NICHOLS YORKSHIRE RHUBARB PRESERVE WITH ORANGE
The fresh earthy flavour of rhubarb with a twist of orange is captured in this lovely jam. Made with the tender, pink stalks which are ‘forced’ early and harvested by candlelight in the early months of the year and been long grown in West Yorkshire.

The heavy clay soil, the cold winter climate and the availability of coal from nearby mines, have all contributed to the tradition of growing rhubarb in ‘The Yorkshire Triangle’. Delicious on fresh bread, scones, and sandwiches or with Greek style yoghurt and honey, savour with a delicate cup of Darjeeling tea.
Price: £2.95/€4.50 (340g)

TRADITIONAL YORKSHIRE ENGLISH HONEY
The finest English honey produced by an independent Fourth generation family run business, established in 1947, Pennine Bee Farms. Nurtured from local hives in North Yorkshire, the honey boasts a medium golden yellow colour and mellow taste on the palate. Available in both set and clear honeys.

To mark the centenary year of Jesmona, three new lines were specifically designed to correspond with the recognisable heritage and design, while at the same time showcasing the art of the traditional confectioner. Available in Liquorice & Blackcurrant, Pear Drops and Old Fashioned Mint Humbugs.
