The Jerez Discovery Bar, situated in Spitalfields market, will be opening its doors to the public this August for three days only and you will discover, first hand, some of Jerez’s finest wines while sampling sumptuous Heston Blumenthal- inspired tapas dishes. From super dry and citrusy fino, to nutty oloroso and a traditional English favourite with a twist, cream Sherry, served over ice with a slice of orange, your taste buds will be catapulted into the Andalucían sunshine while taking in the sights and sounds of this trend setting and vibrant part of London.
Poached chicken with Serrano ham stuffed with walnut and pecorino pesto, served with a chilled glass of Fino, will allow you to show off the unrivalled deliciousness of walnuts with dry sherry; a shot of garlic and almond soup served with an Oloroso will unveil the roasted nut aromas of this style. Finally, braised ham hock with rose apricots served with cream sherry will make you uncover the toffee and candied fruit aromas of the UK’s most favourite style.
Heston, a big fan of the wines from Jerez, recently said: “Sherry is a wonderful drink. You can have it as an aperitif or to go with a dish. It’s something that can be drunk with a range of different foods and any time of the year.” And it’s with this ethos that the Jerez Discovery Bar was created for Londoners.
