Morrisons Meets Demand With Polish Range

9th March 2007 Print
Morrisons is establishing itself as one of the UK's largest retailers of Polish food, with its authentic range now boasting 55 products, from traditional specialities to everyday favourites. There are an estimated 600,000 Poles living in the UK*. 283 Morrisons stores nationwide are now selling a selection of own label and branded products from the impressive Polish foods range.

This includes bread varieties such as poppyseed and rye, which are baked fresh by a traditional Polish bakery based in the UK and are exclusive to Morrisons as the only multiple retailer to sell it.

Also included are deli meats such as Kabanos (dry pork sausage); Boczek (cooked and smoked bacon); Krakus Red Cabbage, one of the staple ingredients of the Polish diet and Solid Naleczowska Plums in Chocolate, a Polish speciality. The Polish range is the first to feature under Morrisons new 'World Foods' point of sale in store, showcasing foods from around the globe.

Suzanne Laverack, World Foods buyer said, "We tailor our food and drink offering to meet the demands of local communities and are providing foods for different cultures, with clear in store signage to help showcase our developing world foods ranges."

Morrisons plans to further develop its Polish range and introduce new ranges to the World Foods banner within the year.
