Italian Flavoured Pastas Exclusively At Harvey Nichols

Authentic Italian Pasta A new range of gastronomic Italian flavoured pastas are now available exclusively from Harvey Nichols. Available in six exciting flavours such as Chocolate, Basil, Chilli & Garlic, Truffle, Castelmagno Cheese and Strawberry & Barolo, each strand of pasta is handcrafted using the finest quality durum wheat, kneaded with fresh eggs and contains no additives or preservatives.

Renowned for their traditional cookery methods in the Piedmont region of Italy, the creators of the award winning La Favorita Fish range believe the tagliatelle must be nurtured in a simple and delicate fashion, which maintains the pure taste of the natural ingredients.

La Favorita Fish flavoured pastas are available from Harvey Nichols Foodmarkets nationwide, priced at £5.50 per 250g box.

Recipe suggestions:

Strawberry and Barolo Egg Tagliatelle with Prawns

250g of Strawberry and Barolo Egg Tagliatelle
250g of strawberries and blueberries
12 large prawns (shelled)
Sprig of rosemary
200g butter
Salt and Black Pepper to garnish

1. Prior to cooking, dice up strawberries and blueberries and set aside

2. Heat butter and rosemary in a frying pan

3. Add the shelled prawns and leave to cook for approximately 1 minute

4. In another pan bring water to boil (approx 4 litres), add salt and cook the tagliatelle for 2/3 minutes, stir gently from time to time

5. Drain the pasta and add to the frying pan, adding also the diced strawberries and blueberries, and mix over a high heat

6. Serve very hot with fresh black pepper

Basil Egg Tagliatelle – Ideal for a tomato based sauce or serve alone with an extra virgin olive oil and parmesan. Alternatively, try with a light Carbonara sauce.

Strawberry and Barolo Wine Egg Tagliatelle – The red colour, typical of the Barolo, and the delicate flavour of strawberries are evocative of the tastes and fragrances that represent the Piemonte region. Boasting a delicate taste, try with a tomato sauce with capers, or roasted cherry tomatoes

Chilli and Garlic Egg Tagliatelle – For an interesting taste, combine with onions, walnuts and green beans to bring out the individual flavours.

Egg Tagliatelle with Castelmagno Cheese – a typically well matured cheese produced in a small valley of Cuneo, Castelmagno is characterised by a fullness and intensity of taste.

A traditional recipe favoured by the Piedmontese, serve with honey, pine nuts or walnuts, fresh herbs and soft cheese.

Truffle Egg Tagliatelle – this pasta is perfect with just a drizzle of good olive oil and a few truffle shavings over the top.
