Artisan du chocolat launches new concession at Selfridges
Artisan du chocolat is set to launch their second and long awaited shop on 10th November, a luxury concession at Selfridges on Oxford Street situated on the ground floor in the confectionery hall.In keeping with their tradition for innovation, Artisan du chocolat at Selfridges creates a new concept designed to enhance the experience of chocolate. It will include the first chocolateria with a small seating area serving chocolate to drink and eat, alongside the extensive range of Artisan chocolates for sale.
Furthermore, the Selfridges concession will feature its own mini conche, demonstrating how Artisan du chocolat produces their own chocolate from ground beans and giving off an irresistible smell.
The menu plays on presenting chocolate in different forms, textures, associations and temperatures. Drinks will include origin hot chocolate, hot espresso chocolate, matcha white chocolate and will be the first place to serve Cacao pulp juice – made from pulp from the cacao pod that surrounds the beans. Fragrant with a hint of bitterness, cacao juice has notes of lychees and tart apples.
Served ice cold, under a large central light printed with a panoramic view of a plantation, it will make you feel that you are tasting a fresh cacao fruit in the middle of a tropical forest. To eat, there will be a choice of assorted chocolates and salted caramels, warm chocolate fondant, frozen chocolate granita and a slice of butter cake to dip in melted dark chocolate.
The interior of Artisan du chocolat at Selfridges will be elegant, inviting and practical whether you want to carefully choose a selection of chocolates or grab a gift or a treat. Brown glass covered vertical counters maintain the chocolates at constant temperature. Accents of orange and white complement the very large, amazing plantation light and the five 'chocolate chunks' seating spaces.
Renowned for exquisite quality and creativity, Artisan du chocolat is unique among chocolate makers in the UK being the first to produce chocolate from ground cocoa beans on an artisan scale in their Kent atelier. The new Artisan du chocolat shop at Selfridges will be a great showcase for their entire range of chocolates, including the Great British Chocolate Bars, Exotic Fusion Bars and the famous Liquid Sea Salted Caramels, soon to launch in a variety of amazing new flavours and luxurious new packaging.
