New London furniture collection launches

The range was first launched in 2005 but each year is adapted and changed. New items added to the collection for 2007 include die-cut wool felt rugs, a coffee table that joins glass to wood, new sofa and armchair shape in red tweed, new lighting designs (inc a lightshade assembled by the end user made from paper and large scale concrete lights for interior or exterior use) and a stunning sideboard with inset legs.
This adds to the existing pieces of dining and occasional tables, cabinets and mirrors.
All the pieces are manufactured by London companies who are all using design to add value to their business - Many of them creating contemporary furniture for the first time - there is a packaging company that is creating the die cuts for the felt rugs, a kitchen surface company is creating the terrazzo floor/garden lights, a medical fittings company is making the glass for the tables...the collection also supports the London furniture industry with local cabinet makers and woodworkers being involved.
The manufacturers have been put together with designers by Furniture Works (a division of Metropolitan Works) with a view to helping the UK/ London manufacturing business develop and stay ahead of the game, especially as people are now looking for locally crafted quality furniture. The collection is made to order, so can be totally bespoke with rugs and sofas available in different colours, but is also priced to sit alongside the top end of the high street, so therefore accessible to the domestic market.
The website has prices and images on isoscollection.co.uk
The collection will be showing at House & Garden Fair from 27-30 June at Olympia.
Orders can be made online and various stockists will be coming on board this month. Tomoko Azumi's Light MilleFeuille won the Living Etc award for innovation at The Furniture Show at NEC in Jan when it launched to trade.
