Metropolitan Works Show 07

21st April 2007 Print
Metropolitan Works Show 07 Now in its fourth year, the 2007 Metropolitan Works Show will present the very best in contemporary furniture, lighting, home accessories and jewellery from some of the most exciting designers in the UK. Be inspired by innovative new design from Thursday 10th – Thursday 24th May at Metropolitan Works east London showroom and Sunday 3rd – Tuesday 5th June at PULSE, Earls Court.

Featuring work from 31 of its members, this year’s multidisciplinary Metropolitan Works Show will offer designers and manufacturers an opportunity to both launch prototypes and sell exciting new products to the public. This year’s show will encompass a broad range of disciplines and materials; from Louise Gibb’s organically shaped ceramics to highly experimental wax vases by Spinifex. Jewellery on show will include Katrin Jaeger’s endearing mixed media “heartbeat ring”, while Lucy Merchant’s surreal “Mommy’s chair” collection, reminiscent of a child’s drawing, is bound to impress.

Metropolitan Works, incorporating Furniture Works, attracts a multitude of designers working in a variety of disciplines including furniture and product design, textiles, ceramics, glass and jewellery. Located in London's City Fringe and East End, an area with the largest concentration of artists and designers in Europe, Metropolitan Works is the capital’s first one-stop digital manufacturing centre that encourages creative people to extend the applications of formerly inaccessible industrial level technologies.
