What would you give for the first Orgasm?!

Award-winning furniture designers, Melia, are launching “The Orgasm” range by public auction. The stunning new design will be released in a limited edition of 300. The prototype was featured on Eurosport during the recent studio coverage of the Australian Open and the African Cup of Nations.

Edition #1 is due to be released to the general public. From 1st March, international collectors will be battling it out to win the first edition of the design.

Dynamic design duo, John-Paul Melia and Lucy Tatam, are set to become household names in 2008. John-Paul’s award-winning PANTS coffee table is already a hit with buyers around the world. Clients include A-list celebrities, such as the Hollywood star who ordered a PANTS table in beautiful macassar ebony veneer for his luxury villa.

The first edition of The ORGASM will be finished using the same macassar ebony veneer on the outside and ivory lacquer on the inside, and fitted with clear glass top and bottom. The auction will be held on eBay.com, with bids also being taken via the Melia website: Meliadesign.co.uk.

“John-Paul has blown me away with this one!” exclaims Lucy. “It is such a stunning design and, of course, the quality is second-to-none.”

Indeed, Melia’s fast growing reputation is as much due to the uncompromised craftsmanship, as it is about their designs. “We are both perfectionists, which means we are a pain in each other’s backside!” Lucy smiles, “but our customers are always thrilled with their furniture, and that makes it all worth while.”

Prices have more than doubled over the past two years, as the brand goes from strength to strength, with second-hand prices now exceeding the original sale price.

From their workshop in Hebden Bridge, John-Paul and Lucy create bespoke furniture for clients all over the globe.
