Every picture tells a story

10th July 2008 Print
Young and talented, 27 years old Lisa Bengtsson was born in a little town called Gnosjö in the south of Sweden. Since she was little, she always felt that she was meant to be a designer so she could communicate her feelings through her work.

After working as an Art Director for an advertising agency, she went to study graphic design at the Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, Sweden and then, went to open her own studio to produce pattern designs.

Bengstonn’s biggest inspiration comes from watching people and seeing how we live our lives from the past to the present. When Bengstonn creates patterns she always try to find an idea where she can put in her own values and thoughts into her projects.

The ‘Family’ wallpaper, now available at Bodie and Fou, tells the story of how we live and frame our lives. Inspired from memories and nostalgia of ancient times, Bengstonn wanted to find a rough expression, as if you could almost touch the worn feeling of the frames with your fingertips.

‘Family’ is a collection of images of frames that fill the wall with a blank canvas. You can use it to display your own photos of family and friends or simply leave the frames outlining a space. The end result is an elegant, striking and unusual way to write your own family history and give a unique character to your home.

The other wallpaper design available at Bodie and Fou is ‘Mother-in-Law’ – an homage to all the Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin fans. There is something special about a pair of shoes - it is an accessory that we always need and that can change a simple outfit into something incredibly stylish and chic.

Some of them we keep forever, others only leave a footprint behind. Bold and striking, Bengston’s ‘Mother in Law’ wallpaper, celebrates and brings together a passion for fashion and interiors and like a coveted pairs of Blahnik will leave a lasting impression.

‘Family’ and ‘Mother in Law’ wallpapers are available on rolls of 53 cm wide by 10 meters long each. Printed in Sweden, £115 each.
