A blindin' recession busting solution from Apollo

This latest trend in window dressing comes straight from the shores of Australia, where this type of natural looking, lighter-weight blind is popular in beach huts and summer homes.
But the fact that Apollo’s Calico blind is 20% cheaper than normal Romans doesn’t mean you compromise on style: the new Calico collection is modern and very on trend, mixing wood with natural fabrics.
The range comprises nine colours of fabric, both plain and patterned (dobby weaves), from neutrals - white, cream, beige – to contemporary darker colours - green, purple and black. The fabric is flock backed which helps to dim out light. Customers can then tailor their look by choosing from four colours of wood stained batons and bottom wood bar, which range from light to dark wood. Matching pelmets are also available.
Creative director at Apollo Blinds Helen Kilvington said: “The new blinds reduce some of the labour involved in making a roman blind, for example the Calico doesn’t have to be side hemmed or a lining sewn in, which means we can pass on this cost saving to customers.
“But it’s not just the cost that will be a major pull to homeowners. The look and feel of the new Calico offers customers something modern and different to anything else on the market - all made to measure and fitted directly in their homes.”
Prices start at £82.30 for a 600 x 1000mm blind – giving a 20% saving against standard Roman blind.
