House prices fall 2.2% in September

House prices in England and Wales fell 2.2% in September and prices were 8% lower on an annual basis, according to data from the Land Registry.

The annual change in England and Wales has decreased consecutively for thirteen months.

The average house price now stands at £168,814, which is a decrease from last month.

Sales volumes have continued to decrease, with the average number of sales per month averaging 57,887 in the months April to July 2008.
