RAC wins trio of awards for fleet excellence
RAC has won three top awards for its expertise in keeping fleet drivers safely out on the road – making it the fifth year running that RAC has scooped ‘excellence’ titles in this field. The awards, from trade titles Fleet Week and Fleet Management, recognised RAC as the readers’ favourite for accident and risk management of fleet vehicles, and for its software – the Tranman fleet management system.
Since RAC’s acquisition by Aviva last March, its accident management team has expanded by two thirds to cope with a host of new clients from Norwich Union Insurance, part of Aviva, as well as other new business.
Risk management was a new category this year. Recognising this area as increasingly important for the fleet industry, RAC has transformed itself from primarily a driver-training provider to a holistic fleet risk management supplier. RAC now offers everything from an off-the-shelf policy document for smaller fleets to bespoke consultancy, along with a full programme of driver education and training.
RAC Software Solutions won plaudits for its highly regarded fleet management software system Tranman. The division recently signed a £6m contract with the MOD and was chosen to manage the vehicle fleet assembled to police the G8 summit in Scotland last July.
Colin Simm, director of claims services for RAC, said: "For any company to win three Fleet Excellence awards in one year is a testament to the wide-ranging products and services available to fleets. It’s a great achievement to impress the readers of Fleet Week and Fleet Management and being chosen as the number one in three different categories proves that RAC is doing enough to delight some of the UK’s most demanding customers."
