Goodwood celebrates a decade of the Revival

Ten years on, the Revival meeting – devised by the Earl of March to celebrate the early halcyon days of motor racing at the famous Goodwood circuit – has become one of the most celebrated and eagerly anticipated historic motor race meetings in the world.
The Revival’s unique combination of pre-1966 motor racing, famous drivers and riders, classic vehicles, air displays, period fashions, music, food and a uniquely nostalgic atmosphere are all celebrated in an important new book, Goodwood Revival, The First Ten Years. This book is written by leading motor sport authority and Goodwood devotee Doug Nye, and richly illustrated with superb colour images. Goodwood Revival, The First Ten Years includes full listings of every race, vehicle and driver, as well as insights into the event from competitors and visitors. The book is published by Merrell Publishing and will be launched at the Revival on Friday 19 September in two editions.
A very special Limited Edition version, priced at £400, will be uniquely bound in cloth and leather, and will come complete with its own slip case, an actual metal badge from the first 1998 Revival meeting, plus a replica programme from the first Revival, together with a signed photograph of the man who enjoyed his first ever race win at Goodwood sixty years ago, Sir Stirling Moss. This edition will be limited to 750 copies.
The Goodwood Edition of the book, priced at £40, comes in its own slip case and is only available from Goodwood, where it will be launched at the Revival. During the Revival weekend Lord March will be signing this commemorative book at selected times at the Goodwood Shop and Richmond Lawn Shop. A two-disc DVD (Goodwood Revival, The First Ten Years) with three hours viewing of the very best moments taken from the past decade of the Goodwood Revival will also be available from 19 September, priced at £40. Both editions of the book, as well as the DVD, will also be available on-line from the Goodwood retail website at goodwood.co.uk/shop/online, or after the event from the Goodwood Shop at the Motor Circuit on 01243 755098.
