NYSE bell rings to the sound of Motorexpo expansion

On Tuesday 16th September, executives and guests of Brookfield Properties and Motorexpo visited the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate their partnership, and officially announce the further expansion of the motor show like no other to the additional locations of Los Angeles and Toronto in 2009.

With the Motorexpo currently enjoying its US debut at the World Financial Center in New York, today’s announcement will see this unique and free to the public motor exposition, become a signature event at three of Brookfield Properties’ most prestigious locations throughout North America.

Following a formal Breakfast within the Boardroom of the NYSE, 12 senior delegates including Ric Clark, President and CEO of Brookfield Properties, Graeme Carver, President of Motorexpo and Motor Manufacturer representation in the form of Christopher Wiseman of Bentley USA and Lee Newton of Porsche North America; attended the Bell Podium platform for The Opening BellSM ceremony which marked the start of trading on the US Market.

Commenting on the days events Ric Clark, President and CEO of Brookfield Properties said; “It is an honor to ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange, especially on the occasion of the debut of the World Financial Center Motorexpo. For Brookfield Properties, the Motorexpo is a very ambitious project that has succeeded beyond our expectations and we look forward to its expansion next year to Toronto and Los Angeles.

Graeme Carver, Motorexpo President added “While it is only the second day of our first New York Motorexpo, already feedback from our visitors and Manufacturers suggests that our US debut simply could not have gone better. Add to this the news of our expansion in 2009, and I believe the Motorexpo has reached a decisive point in terms of our development. We look forward to next year and already have manufacturers taking their places at all four of our worldwide locations!”

In 2009, Motorexpo events will take place at Los Angeles in May, London in early June, Toronto in Late June and New York in September. The 2008 World Financial Center New York Motorexpo is open daily until Friday September 19 and is completely free for the public to visit. Opening hours are 10am-6pm with a special late night opening on Thursday September 18, when the show will be open until 8pm.
