Who has a fat face?

26th January 2007 Print
Who has a fat face? This isn't a derogatory remark, but actually refers to Newbury Town Centre! Instructed by Irish Estates in April 2006 to market 154 Bartholomew Street, Dreweatt Neate are pleased to announce a letting with national retailer Fat Face.

They took the 1,048sqft ground floor shop plus 2,181sqft of three-storey offices above, previously occupied by Bennett’s Insurance. A new 10-year lease was taken on full repairing and insuring terms off a quoting rent of £52,000 p.a exclusive.

The property had been vacant for some time before Dreweatt Neate were instructed and the agents were therefore very happy to achieve all the clients’ expectations for the whole building – namely a substantial lease to a high quality tenant at the market rent. Andy Gibbs, Associate Partner at Dreweatt Neate comments, “most retail occupiers tend to want a ground floor presence only perhaps with some ancillary first floor storage space at most.

However to be offering a shop plus three floors of offices provided a significant challenge in the current market and the client was favourably impressed that all their conditions were met or exceeded”. Andy adds, “with the successful letting to the West Cornwall Pasty Company and Ripples Bathrooms last year, Dreweatt Neate continues to try and bring quality retailers to the town as well as satisfying the demands of start up and local businesses as well”.
