Redrow celebrate success in Aborfield
Sales have been blooming at Redrow’s Poppyfields development in Aborfield, Berkshire – so much so that everything has been reserved. All 76 of the properties have been sold, less than a year since the show home opened. But don’t worry - Redrow is staying in the area with further developments in Thatcham and Bracknell.
Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow Homes (Southern), says: “We’re delighted at the success of Poppyfields and are sure that our new venture at Jennett’s Park in Bracknell will take a similar course of popularity and that our Kennet Heath scheme in Thatcham will remain busy.
“Poppyfields is in a great location and has such a wide variety of houses that it has appealed to people from all walks of life, which is the secret of its triumph.”
Poppyfields has featured a range of two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses on the site of the former Poperinghe Barracks in prime commuter country, only four miles from Wokingham and just a 20-minute drive from Reading.
Nearby development Kennet Heath in Thatcham has already proved popular with a diverse range of people and more than 200 people have already moved in since its launch in 2003, confirming its status as one of the most sought-after developments from Redrow’s portfolio in the south east of England.
The huge popularity of the site means that 110 new houses are currently being developed. The first homes in the new phase will be completed in June 2007 and properties currently released for sale include the three-bedroom Fairwood, priced from £220,950 and the four-bedroom Ouse, from £278,950.
This year also sees the exciting development of Jennett’s Park in Bracknell taking shape. The landmark development sees Redrow joining forces with house builder Persimmon to produce over 1,000 new homes, a country park and community and recreational facilities, including pubs and play areas.
Paul says: “Kennet Heath has been a big hit, thanks to a collection of homes that appeal to buyers from across the board, and the village-like feel to the development means a new community has been born. I am confident that Jennett’s Park will follow in the footsteps of Poppyfields and Kennet Heath and be a great success.”
