The Dickens family What could be a more perfect way of overcoming the winter blues than by starting afresh with a new home?

Well, that is exactly what the Dickens family from Woodley will be doing when they move into their brand new property at Persimmon Homes’ Tutors Gate development next month.

Mark Dickens, an immigration officer with the Home Office and his wife Stephanie, a midwife, will be moving to their new home with teenage daughters, Emma, 16 and Charlotte, 14 plus family pets Max and Domino, after deciding to downsize in order to free up some equity.

Mark explains: “We were searching for a property in the Woodley area and came across Persimmon Homes’ Tutors Gate. After visiting the development, we were convinced that we had found the perfect property and, after discussing our options and getting some great advice from the onsite sales advisers, we knew we were making the right purchase.”

The family already reside in Woodley, and love the area so much that they didn’t want to move far. Mark comments: “The area is already familiar to us and is close to our daughters’ school, but more than that it is genuinely a really pleasant, quiet and relaxing place in which to raise a family. What’s more, the lake which is close to Tutor’s Gate will be great for taking the dog for a walk.”

The family chose a three bedroom Dorchester home, a smart terraced property with a spacious lounge and conveniently combined kitchen and dining room. The property boasts a grand master bedroom, with the added luxury of an en-suite, as well as two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The Dickens’ also decided to use Persimmon’s Finishing Touches range of home upgrades, to make their home complete: “The range of upgrades available made it an extremely simple and easy process to decide what we liked and have it all fitted before we move in,” added Mark. “We were able to really personalise our bathroom and kitchen, as well as adding lighting fixtures throughout the house and it has been a great help to have the stress of trawling furniture shops taken away from us!”

With spring just around the corner, The Dickens family are looking forward to moving into their new home: “We just can’t wait to get the keys!” concluded Mark. “My wife and the girls are really excited to be moving and we are all just itching to get settled into our new home.”
