Lorraine shows off the model of Imperial Heights at the development’s marketing suite. Working close to home is a dream for most of us, but for Redrow sales consultant Lorraine Hume, it has just become a reality. Lorraine, who is also celebrating becoming Redrow’s longest serving sales consultant with nine years service, now works at Redrow’s much sought after Imperial Heights development, and she couldn’t be happier as it is only 15 minutes from her home in Earley, Berkshire.

Imperial Heights is one part of the jigsaw that fits together to create Jennett’s Park, a major new residential and community development near Bracknell, where its abundance of open space sets it aside from rival developments.

As well as the new homes, it will include a primary school, doctor’s surgery, a 91-acre Country Park, community centre, commercial area, two public houses and ten play areas for various age-groups when completed.

Lorraine says: “I always wanted to work near to home, but I started my Redrow career at a development called Belvedere Place in Langley. Ever since I knew Redrow would be building in Bracknell I wanted to work there, and that’s where I thought I’d go next – but it didn’t quite work out like that! Next I worked at Brockham Park in Surrey, and then Kennet Heath in Thatcham.

“I remember a time at Langley when I hadn’t been with the company long, and I had to barricade myself into the sales office and shut people out, because there was just so much interest in the development prior to the launch. People were climbing over fences to get in! That was a funny moment.

“I have enjoyed my time at Redrow over the nine years – I didn’t even realise I was the longest serving sales consultant – time flies! Redrow is a lovely company to work for, with a nice product and nice people. It’s got a great atmosphere that makes it feel like you’re part of a small family business – when in fact it’s huge and there are people all over the country!”

Lorraine, who lives with husband Colin and son Christian, is originally from Henley-on-Thames and has worked for Parker’s Estate Agent, Bewley Homes and Banner Homes before joining Redrow.

Lorraine continues: “This year I finally got my wish and moved to Imperial Heights in Bracknell. It’s what I always wanted and it feels great to finally be here. It’s a lovely development and it’s only 15 minutes from my house, which is perfect. I’m really happy here.”

Since its busy weekend launch only two weeks ago, Imperial Heights has already sold 11 of its homes.

Lorraine explains: “Hundreds of people came to the launch, in fact I’ve never known a launch like that, even early on it was busy and it continued right throughout the day. We had to get extra help from other developments but it was a fantastic day.”

Jennett’s Park is a joint project by Redrow Homes (Southern) and Persimmon Homes that will showcase between 1,300 and 1,500 new homes when complete.

Jennett’s Park is five minutes away from Bracknell and 20 minutes away from Reading. Its location near to the A329 Berkshire Road also gives it easy access to the M3 and M4 – perfect for commuters.
