Berkshire communities benefit from Knight Frank’s property sales

9th August 2007 Print
Knight Frank at Hungerford is delighted to announce a new initiative, whereby a proportion of the commission earned for each property sold in Berkshire, benefits communities and those needing extra support within the county.

Partner, Nick van Zeller says “As well as the Hungerford office, our other Berkshire offices in Ascot together with our Virginia Water and Henley offices, which also sell houses in Berkshire, are delighted to be able to help residents in the county who need some extra help. The past year has been a record year for Knight Frank and this is a fantastic way of contributing some of those funds to help local people.”

These contributions from Knight Frank are passed to the Berkshire Community Foundation which has been supporting voluntary groups in the county since 1985. The foundation then distributes funds to the community, identifying local needs and mobilising local resources and in particular allocating grants to local groups. By efficient fund management, investment and careful planning the BCF ensures that the money goes to those in most need. This includes helping:

The elderly
Children and young people
People with a long term illness or disability and their carers
People with mental needs
Minority ethnic communities
Those suffering from addiction

BCF Trustee, Adrian Scrope says “ BCF is the prime vehicle for businesses and individuals who wish to focus their charitable giving effectively in Berkshire. We are delighted that Knight Frank has decided to contribute in such a proactive and continuing way and that they have joined our list of local companies and organisations supporting our work.”
