Barratt wins approval for Berkshire development
Barratt, Britain’s premier housebuilder, has secured planning permission for a smart new development in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Still to be named, the scheme in Waterloo Road will comprise six townhouses and 15 apartments. The properties will be released for sale off-plan in spring 2008 and prospective buyers should register their interest with Barratt Thames Valley now.
Gary Ennis, Barratt regional managing director, says: “We have a good track record in the area and are delighted to be building quality homes in Crowthorne. This is a great location for families and single people offering a ‘village-environment’ while being within easy reach of a wide range of amenities.”
Crowthorne and nearby Sandhurst has a wide variety of restaurants, shops and leisure facilities; Bracknell, Windsor and Camberley, a short distance away, offer access to more high street shopping names. There’s also a good choice of local state and private schools, including Our Lady’s Preparatory School half a mile from Barratt’s development, and Eagle House Preparatory School and the renowned Wellington College, both around a mile and a half away.
The village of Crowthorne has grown in popularity in recent years due to its proximity to London and Heathrow Airport. It is ideally situated for access to key road and rail networks with the A322, M3 and M4, all within a radius of approximately 15 minutes drive and its own train station with services directly into Reading.
