Bracknell - The perfect destination for cabin crew

British Airways worker Lee made the move to the first phase of Redrow’s contribution to Jennett’s Park - Imperial Heights - along with friend Scott New, and now has the perfect base to enjoy during his spare time.
As well as featuring a country park of 91 acres in the future, Jennett’s Park, a joint venture between Redrow Homes and Persimmon Homes, will also come complete with a doctor’s surgery, primary school and 10 play areas. Approximately half of the development is set aside for open space, retained woodland and recreational areas.
High flier Lee, 30, shares his time between his role as cabin crew and his small web design company. He says: “I’m from the local area and I like it, so there was never any question of moving away. I lived with my parents before I moved to Imperial Heights and had been saving to get my own place for a while. Getting onto the property ladder was just something I needed to do, especially now that I am thinking of settling down and having a family.
“I love the community feel of Jennett’s Park and the fact that it will have its own shops and a school. I also really like the fact that it’s surrounded by greenbelt land but has great access to the motorway network. I chose Bracknell because I hope to work at Heathrow airport soon and it’s close by. I like the new build homes because, being a designer, I like to have a blank canvas to work on. Also buying a new build means that there’s no nasty surprises left from previous owners.”
Making the move with a friend meant that taking his first step onto the property ladder was more affordable for Lee, at a time when first time buyers are struggling to save up for their first mortgage alone.
Lee continues: “The move itself was really easy because I only lived five miles away in Crowthorne. Living with my parents was great because we got on really well and they were never pressuring me to move out, which gave me time to save up some money. I didn’t want to rent because I’d just be throwing away my money.
“I don’t really get to spend much time at my home at the moment. I’m usually travelling or working as a web designer. The time I do get to myself I like to spend adding my own personal touches to the home.”
Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow Homes (Southern) says: “It’s great to see the new community here at Jennett’s Park begin to develop, especially when we can help first time buyers like Lee into the market. More and more buyers looking for their first home are teaming up with a friend or a group of friends to spread the cost of a new home, and without each others help they would not be able to afford it. At Imperial Heights we cater well for friends looking to share a home, as we can see from Lee’s move.”
Lee and Scott are one of a handful of residents now moved in at Imperial Heights. There is a selection of homes available at the development, including three, four and five-bedroom properties, with prices from £287,950.
Just five minutes away from Bracknell and 20 minutes from Reading, the location near to the A329 Berkshire Way also gives it easy access to the M3 and M4 – perfect for commuters.
