Santa’s fun spectacular

23rd November 2007 Print
On the 2nd December 500 Santa’s are expected to take to the streets in Marlow for the annual charity fun run, organised by The Rotary Clubs of Marlow.

Festive cheer will be spread throughout the town, as every participant gets dressed up as Mr or Mrs Clause and runs the 5km route, which starts and finishes at Higginson Park.

This year’s event has a new main sponsor, in the form of Linden Homes Thames Valley, who have not only devoted time and money to the cause, but also several running Santa’s!

Michele Jacobs, Marketing Manager for Linden Homes Thames Valley comments: “As a local company we jumped at the chance to give a helping hand to such a fun and worthwhile event. It is my hope that our support has encouraged more people to take part this year. To mark the event each runner will receive a medal and trophies will be presented to those making it to the finishing line first. I would encourage everyone to come along and lend some moral support to the runners.”

The event is now in its third year and not only starts the count down to Christmas, but raises money for each runners designated charity and those of the Rotary Club, at a time of year when our thoughts tend to be closer to home. A team from Linden Homes Thames Valley will be running the race in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation children’s charity, which grants the wishes of children with serious and life threatening illnesses.

The event starts at 9:30am in Higginson Park on Sunday 2nd December and is certain to be a great day, so come along lend your support to those taking part. For more information on the event visit Santasfunrun.org.
