Barratt Thames Valley has been granted planning permission to build 44 new homes, including 11 affordable homes, in Reading Road, Winnersh, near Wokingham.

The housebuilder will start construction work on the new development, named Chatsworth Park, in June 2008.

Michael O’Leary, managing director of Barratt Thames Valley, says: “We are delighted to have been given the go-ahead for our development in Winnersh, which will provide a good mix of property styles to suit a variety of buyers, from young single professionals to families.”

Winnersh is located between Reading and Wokingham. A regular week-day bus service runs through the town between Reading and Bracknell via Wokingham. Winnersh railway station offers direct services to London Waterloo with a journey time of around 70 minutes. Amenities in the area include a large Sainsbury’s at the town’s crossroads. For leisure, the Reading Showcase Cinema is just inside the western edge of Winnersh, while Dinton Pastures lies to the north.

The 33 private homes at Chatsworth Park will include one and two-bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom houses.
