Barratt hands over 43 affordable homes at landmark development

Michael O'Leary, managing director of Barratt Thames Valley, presented the keys for the one and two bedroom apartments to John Petitt, chief executive officer of Housing Solutions.
Mr O'Leary says: "We have been very pleased to work with Housing Solutions to provide affordable new homes for local people at this superbly located development and wish residents every happiness at The Glass House."
The Glass House building, conveniently located above Sainsbury's, provides a total of 94 contemporary one and two bedroom apartments. The first private properties were released for sale in October 2007 and have been selling well ever since. The two showhomes were officially opened in January this year by the then Mayor and Mayoress Councillor Leo Walters and Mrs Margot Walters.
Mr Petitt of Housing Solutions added: "This development will provide much needed affordable homes for rent and shared ownership in Maidenhead. Demand for these properties constantly outstrips supply in the town so we are delighted that our partnership with Barratt is helping to lessen the pressure on affordable housing in Maidenhead."
Prices for the private one bedroom apartments are from £225,000 and two bedroom apartments from £296,950. The sales and marketing suite is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Information on all Barratt developments is available at Barratthomes.co.uk.
