Sustainability reigns at The Parks in Bracknell Forest

Sustainability reigns at The Parks in Bracknell Forest As summer approaches, the leisurely pursuits of the countryside beckon. And who wouldn't want to boast about living near a forest, and in a new build development with fantastic green credentials no less? The Parks is located on the site of a former RAF College in Bracknell Forest, where developer George Wimpey are working with English Partnerships to produce a remarkable new community with sustainability at its heart.

Global property adviser DTZ is marketing The Parks, which currently offers a collection of three and four bedroom three-storey homes, located in a mature woodland setting within Bracknell Forest. The scheme is being built taking into account the landscape's flora and fauna while at the same time delivering beautiful new homes in a wonderful natural setting.

Set within acres of green space, the development has been carefully designed to provide a range of homes to suit everyone - from commuters to families to those wishing for a weekend retreat.

There are various elements throughout the scheme that promote sustainable living and careful consideration of ecology. The scheme's landscape will ensure that the wildlife and amenity value is preserved and the biodiversity of the site maximised. Rainwater butts will be positioned to collect rainwater from the rooftops which can then be used for watering the gardens and communal landscaped areas and a new balancing pond will provide a Sustainable Urban Drainage Solution (SUDS), which will help to reduce any excess water run-off. There is also the option of having a solar panel installed in the roof of homes to help cut energy bills.

Kitchen units and worktops will be made from recycled wood products or timber which has been certified from sustainable sources, while bathrooms will feature dual-flush WCs, low flow showers and spray taps on basins to reduce water wastage.

Cycle storage sheds encourage the usage of bikes for local trips, and Bracknell train station is only a short ride away. Cycleways and walkways provide safe and quick connections to surrounding areas.

The Parks has a high specification to include a range of design features and decorative finishes, which include individually designed kitchens by Symphony, integrated stainless steel appliances, en suite bathrooms, double-glazed windows and condensing boilers. All the properties have lots of natural light, neat storage solutions and adaptable space.

Mike Bickerton, Associate Director at DTZ comments: "The Parks in Bracknell is within a gorgeous natural setting and takes into account the local and wider environment. The development ticks all the boxes for location, specification and sustainability."

Regular train services run from Bracknell train station to Reading in 20 minutes, while London Waterloo is just over an hour away.

Prices at The Parks start from £275,995 for a three-bedroom home and £339,995 for a four-bedroom home. For more information, visit Theparksbracknell.co.uk.
