New homes sales ahead of schedule in Bracknell

Maidenhead-based Persimmon Homes Thames Valley has reason to celebrate as it continues to defy the ‘slump’ in the UK housing market. The company has reported that it is selling ahead of schedule at its Sovereign Fields development at Jennetts Park in Bracknell.

Sharon Eldred, sales manager for Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, states: “When we launched Sovereign Fields we expected our sales presence for Phase I to last well into 2009, but the rate of interest we’ve received has meant that we’re now launching Phase II, with a range of two, three and four bedroom homes.

“Purchasers have been bowled over by the impressive layout of the site, the specification and variety of housetypes and the competitive prices and incentives we offer. But we can’t take all the credit for the development’s popularity as the local area and convenient location has also proved to be a winning factor amongst househunters.”

Prices for the final remaining properties on Phase I start from £169,950 for a two bedroom coach house style home. Prices for Phase II are to be announced shortly.

“With 2009 set to become an even more difficult time financially for many individuals and industries, including the housing market, it is very positive news that Sovereign Fields has been so successful and we hope to see similar results on Phase II of the development.”

As part of Persimmon’s commitment to househunters, the company is supporting the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme on selected plots on Phase II where purchasers will be required to raise funding, including a mortgage plus a small deposit where available, of at least 70 per cent of the purchase price. The remaining 30 per cent will be made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes. Households earning less than £60,000 who can not otherwise afford to purchase a suitable property unassisted on the open market will be eligible to apply.

Part of the wider Jennett’s Park development, Sovereign Fields is situated close to Tarman’s Copse, one of two retained woodland areas incorporated within the development which, alongside the 91-acre adjacent country park, have been designed to encourage residents’ to make the most of their leafy, semi-rural location.
