Barratt unwraps Hortham Village Development Barratt is set to take the wraps off its first showhome at Hortham Village in Bristol with the opening on Saturday November 3 of one of the most eco-friendly family homes from the country’s leading housebuilder. And the stunning five bedroom Marlowe design is set to wow potential buyers at this long awaited development on the site of the former Hortham Hospital.

The Marlowe will form the centerpiece of the showhome complex on the development where Barratt will be creating an eco-friendly community of 140 new homes.

“There has been unprecedented interest in these new homes and we are delighted to be able to open the Marlowe showhome to give potential buyers a great insight into our vision and plans for Hortham Village,” said sales director Louise Ware.

A selection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes are planned for the development with the Marlowe a five bedroom detached house – and one of the jewels in the Hortham crown.

This family house will feature a large lounge with bay window and French doors, fully-fitted breakfasting kitchen with separate utility room, dining room with bay window, en-suite shower rooms to both master and second bedroom, bathroom, downstairs cloakroom and study/fifth bedroom.

The smaller properties will include the two-bedroom Falkirk apartments, with two double bedrooms, a living/dining room and fitted kitchen, and the two-bedroom Roseberry semi-detached house, with an open plan kitchen/dining room with French doors.

Many of the houses will be detached, with good size gardens, double garages and driveways. The larger designs include the four-bedroom Thornton house – which offers a study with French doors, separate dining room and downstairs cloakroom – and the four-bedroom Radleigh, which features a lounge with bay window and kitchen with utility room.

All homes come with energy efficient heating, double-glazing and a 10-year NHBC warranty. In fact, Hortham Village promises to be one of the greenest new home sites ever seen in the region. Eco-friendly features will include solar panels, low energy light bulbs and waste separation units – all helping to create a more sustainable ‘green’ community.

Current prices range from £194,995 for a two bedroom coach house to £429,995 for a four bedroom detached house.
