The Zone offers perfect location for young city workers Young professional buyers keen to live close to their place of work in Bristol are flocking to The Zone, Barratt's award-winning development in the Temple Quarter area of the city. Phil Vien (24), who works in insurance, and partner Anna Waldron (24), a tax adviser, have recently bought a Vanquish style apartment at the site. They are both first-time buyers and took advantage of Barratt's five per cent deposit paid offer.

"We were attracted to The Zone because, although it's hidden away in its own private grounds, it really is very close to the city centre," said Phil.

"It only takes me 15 minutes to walk to work and we're only a 5-minute walk from the refurbished Broadmead Shopping Centre, which is due to re-open in a couple of weeks.

"We're also very close to the train and coach stations which is great, as Anna sometimes has to travel north on business," Phil continued.

"We have a lovely apartment. There are two double bedrooms, with an en-suite to the master bedroom, and there's a spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. The fitted kitchen came with an oven/hob and washer/dryer.

"We have a balcony with views of the local area and there's a residents' gym on the ground floor, which is saving me a fortune in gym membership fees," he added.

"We're really settling in now and there are other first-time buyers on our floor. Eventually, there will be a communal roof garden, which will be great for getting to know residents, particularly during the summer."

Phil stressed that the Barratt sales team had been "brilliant" throughout the moving process. "In particular, sales negotiator Cheryl Hobbs gave us some really good advice - she's the perfect person to help first-time buyers," he concluded.

The Zone offers a selection of Citipad studio apartments and traditional one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with prices ranging from £99,000 to £200,000. A number of buyer incentives are available to key workers and people new to property ownership.

The development recently picked up a Daily Telegraph ‘Your New Home' award for the country's best city centre development. The city of Bristol offers the ideal location as, in addition to its many amenities, it enjoys excellent motorway links to Weston-super-Mare and Cardiff to the west, Gloucester and Cheltenham to the north and London to the east.
