David Wilson Homes’ care in the community

10th December 2008 Print
David Wilson Homes’ care in the community David Wilson Homes South West has been recognised as making good use of derelict land this year after building one of its Bristol developments on abandoned ground in Kingswood.

The Jubilee Mews development was built in place of an old abandoned coach house that had been left to ruin becoming an eyesore for the town before being transformed into the exclusive 24 plot development.

Kevin Tutil, managing director of David Wilson Homes South West said "When you are deciding where to build a new site you can't just think about the new community you are building for; you've got to consider the people who are already a part of that community, where the best place to build is and how the development can be most beneficial for the local area.

"The old coach house was notoriously unpopular and had been abandoned for years. By buying the site we are not just making good use of derelict land but are adding value to the area by making it a better, safer place to live."

Commitment to the community

In addition to renovating the derelict land, David Wilson Homes South West has invested more than £130,000 into the local community which will go towards recreation projects, improving public transport systems and supporting local education.

Kelvin continues: "A housebuilder's responsibilities don't end when the development is built. Kingswood is a fantastic, up and coming part of Bristol and with two of our developments now situated in the heart of the town we felt it was important to invest in the prosperous future of the area and all its residents both old and new."

The company has shown a similar commitment to the community of Downend after opening its brand new development, Strawberry Fields in November where David Wilson's £85,000 investment will go towards recreation projects and public transport improvements, including the rebuilding of bus stops across the area.

Luxury living in Bristol

Situated just outside of Bristol, Jubilee Mews and Strawberry Fields are exclusive developments offering prospective buyers a stunning collection of homes from two and three bedroom properties at Jubilee Mews to two, three and four bedroom homes at Strawberry Fields, including the stunning three bedroom Queensville showhome now available from just £205,995.

Both developments are well placed for all local amenities including schools, supermarkets, pubs, shops and leisure facilities. In close proximity to both town and countryside, purchasers can take advantage of the great outdoors by going for riverside strolls or a leisurely round of golf.

In addition both developments are easily accessible by road and public transport providing good links to London, Birmingham and South Wales which make them an ideal location for commuters who like the buzz of the city but prefer to escape at the weekend.
