Cheswick lives up to its name

Cheswick lives up to its name An award-winning housebuilder is celebrating after selling more than half of the homes in the first phase of a new development in Bristol. Redrow has sold more than 40 homes at Tallsticks, the initial phase of its Cheswick ‘village’ venture in Filton, in just six months.

There are only three ‘Bellinus’ two-bedroom apartments remaining for sale at Tallsticks after outstanding sales in recent weeks. A choice of three and four-bedroom townhouses are also available.

The Cheswick site gets its name from the Chaucerian word ‘Ches’ meaning to choose, and ‘Wick’ an ancient word meaning village or hamlet. And Redrow’s area sales manager Philippa Groves is delighted how quickly it has become the ‘village of choice’ for discerning homebuyers in the Bristol area.

She said: “While we were confident that the quality and location of the new homes at Cheswick would prove popular, we have still been pleasantly surprised just how well they have sold recently given the economic climate.

“The development is really taking shape now and, with the first residents already well established in their new homes, a fantastic community has already begun to form. We are delighted with the recent success but we will continue to strive for more by ensuring quality build, superior interior specification and excellent customer service.

Set in leafy surroundings in Filton, just a few miles from Bristol city centre, Cheswick will be made up of several smaller ‘villages’, the first of which is Tallsticks. Once complete, Cheswick will boast shops, places to eat and all the local amenities of an established residential neighbourhood.

The homes are all designed to achieve level three of the new Code for Sustainable Homes – ahead of targets set by Government – making them more energy efficient and cheaper to run while still appearing and functioning as a normal home.

There are currently two-bedroom apartments, plus three and four-bedroom homes available within the Tallsticks phase, priced from £129,995 to £249,950.

Part exchange is available on selected plots, which means Redrow will effectively act as a cash buyer for customer’s existing property paving the way for a smooth move to a new home. It is one of a number of incentives available to buyers, which can be tailored to suit individual needs.
