Why rent when you could buy at The Courtyard

7th August 2009 Print
Why rent when you could buy at The Courtyard David Wilson Homes can offer a number of incentives to prospective buyers in the Bristol area who are living in rented accommodation.

Victoria Bush (25) and partner Tom Stokes (24) have just bought a stunning coach house at The Courtyard at Beaufort Vale in Siston, using David Wilson’s Easy Start shared equity scheme.

“It was costing us £7,000 a year to live in rented accommodation, so we were keen to get a foot on the property ladder,” said Victoria, who works for a local car dealership.

“When David Wilson told us about Easy Start, it seemed the ideal solution. We secured a mortgage for 75 per cent of the asking price and the other 25 per cent was covered by the developer.

“Our new home is an ideal ‘crash pad’ for two young professionals,” Victoria continued. “We have a lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom and two double bedrooms upstairs and there’s a garage downstairs. We also have our own garden, which is great.

“The development is lovely,” she added. “There’s a cycle path at the end of the road and it’s quite rural, but the city is close by which is great for Tom, who works in Bristol city centre.

“The David Wilson sales team was excellent throughout the buying process. We looked at a few developments before choosing The Courtyard, but the service here is the best. We couldn’t have asked for better,” Victoria concluded.

Current availability at The Courtyard includes a selection of three and four-bedroom townhouses priced from £199,995, but available for just £149,995 with Easy Start.

“Easy Start is designed to give a helping hand to anyone who does not own a home of their own,” said Bernice McKenna, David Wilson sales director. “David Wilson finances the 25 per cent equity loan for up to 10 years.

“We can also offer the Home Buy Direct Scheme, a government-backed initiative for first-time buyers and key workers. Eligible homebuyers can purchase 100 per cent of a new property for just 70 per cent of the price and no deposit is required.

“David Wilson matches the government’s funding to provide the 30 per cent equity loan,” she continued. “The buyer pays no interest on this loan for five years, and repays the equity loan on the sale of the property.”

The Courtyard is located in Carsons Road, close to its sister development, Beaufort Vale, which specialises in five and six-bedroom detached houses.

Both developments are located close to the countryside and Siston Common but they are also near to local shops, schools and the Avon Ring Road, which offers easy access into Bristol city centre.
