The growing family of Radi-CAL

NASCAR (CP5895)
Introduced earlier this year, the new Caliper for the Sprint Cup Series from AP Racing is a 6 piston unit, designed for Intermediate tracks such as Lowes. This newly developed caliper weighs the same as the successful CP5890 unit but with a 25 percent gain in stiffness, resulting in improved efficiency, brake modulation and performance.
GT1/LMP1/LMP2 (CP6160 & CP6161)
Building on the success of this year’s Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, AP Racing has now introduced 6-piston Radi-CAL calipers for the GT1, LMP1 and LMP2 series. To further increase efficiency in cooling and performance, these Radi-CAL calipers incorporate carbon cooling ducts and dry bleeds. The dry bleed system improves safety by improving bleed and eliminating the risk of loose bleed screws.
WTCC (CP5780)
The most recent introduction to the Radi-CAL range is a 4 piston front caliper for the WTCC series. These calipers are 3 percent lighter than previous designs, yet they offer a 22 percent gain in stiffness and come complete with carbon cooling ducts and dry bleeds, increasing performance and safety.
Since its introduction a little over 12 months ago, the Radi-CAL caliper from AP Racing has given drivers an edge over rivals on race tracks across the world. The technology made its debut in the NASCAR series, winning its maiden race and continuing to build on this success throughout the season. This year’s Sprint Cup Race at Watkins Glen saw over 70% of the qualifying field fitted with the Radi-CAL Heavy Duty Caliper (CP5845), including the winner and 8 of the top 10 finishers.
The Radi-CAL F3 caliper (CP7031) introduced at the beginning of the 2008 season was victorious in its first competitive outing in both the British and Euro F3 series’ with Carlin Motorsport. Radi-CAL has since registered further success with victories in both the National and International classes throughout the season.
AP Racing is continuing to work on further Radi-CAL developments for additional racing series.
