How much is that motor in the window?

23rd October 2008 Print
Used car buyers are in a good position as car prices continue to fall, but it’s hard to tell when something is a true bargain. Call in the experts, as Exchange & Mart launches its new SMS valuation service, powered by CAP, one of the market’s leading providers of used and future residual values data. Now an accurate valuation from the professionals is just a text message away, helping consumers buy with confidence.

Exchange & Mart’s new service allows people to text their VRM and mileage to a short code. A text will be returned to the consumer within minutes, showing three valuations of that vehicle, in good, average and below average condition. The vehicle specification, VRM and mileage will also be confirmed, allowing buyers and sellers to make an informed decision on the price of a vehicle.

Debra Healy, Digital Director at Exchange & Mart says, “There are lots of bargains to be had in the used car arena at the moment, with some vehicle values fallen by as much as a third compared to a year ago, particularly 4x4s and MPVs. With used car prices changing almost daily in an unsettled climate, buyer’s would be wise to keep on top of the most current values. And we would advise used car buyers to walk away if a vehicle is being offered for less than 70% of its valuation price. Anything that seems too good to be true probably is and the chances are you could be stung by buying a car that is at best dodgy and worst dangerous to drive.”

“Our new valuation service benefits from CAP, one of the most respected names in the industry, offering used car buyers the ultimate in guidance when shopping around for a good deal on wheels.”
