Cater Allen sponsors the conceptual gardens at Hampton Court

28th June 2007 Print
For the second year running Cater Allen, one of the UK’s most innovative private banks, is to sponsor the Conceptual Gardens at the Hampton Court Flower Show, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

The Conceptual Gardens will show case up-and-coming designers and provide a platform for their imaginative and radical designs - giving them the opportunity to explore their creative talents, whilst reaching a large and diverse audience.

The decision for Cater Allen to sponsor the Conceptual Gardens represents Cater Allen’s belief in combining both the traditional and the modern to create a unique and individual concept. Cater Allen has recently rebranded to align with Santander Bank, and has launched an online banking service, combining technological demands of customers with traditional service values.

Five Conceptual Gardens will be on show at Hampton Court and each will showcase a very different take on the ‘garden’ whilst still representing the very best in horticultural traditions.

The five Cater Allen Conceptual Gardens are:

‘In Digestion’, which will allow a closer look at carnivorous plants and even a chance to watch them devour insects

‘The Fallen’ which will highlight the demise in British wild flowers since World War II

‘Freedom of Movement’ that celebrates the close connection between dance movement and plant movement

‘Advertising Space’ that reflects today’s obsession with advertising on any available space

‘After Malevich’ that appeals directly to the intangible senses with a display of light, colour, movement, reflection, light and shadow

Richard Dunn, Managing Director Cater Allen said: “We believe that The Conceptual Gardens at the Hampton Court Flower Show offers the perfect balance between the traditional art of gardening and the experimental world of new garden design. We feel this sponsorship is particularly apt, reflecting Cater Allen’s heritage of service which is now combined with the technology, resource and commitment of one of the world’s largest banks

“We have had a very high level of involvement in the whole process and are keen to help support inspirational young designers to fulfil their potential. We are delighted to support this innovative garden for the second year running.”
